“Dal buio alla Luce”: a photo exhibition in Saint-Vincent

One hundred and fourteen photographs are on show in the Saletta Civica in Saint-Vincent. They come from the “Dal buio alla Luce” (“From darkness to light”) contest, which asked people to tell stories of fragility, distress and rebirth.

A prevention project

The contest is run by the photography association Incontroluce A.P.S. It closes the project “La parte che non vedevate”, part of the regional suicide prevention project. It was funded by the Ministry of Labour, the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley, the CSV and the Community Foundation. Partners are Il Mandorlo fiorito, the Grand Paradis rescue volunteers and the social cooperative Noi e gli Altri.

The winners

The prize-giving took place on 10 October. Among adults, Katia Carraro won first place with “La Soglia”, ahead of Mariella Broglio (“Dietro la porta” and “Perseveranza”). Among teenagers and young adults, first place went to Isabella Godani for “Percorso”, ahead of Giulia Gandolfo and Ilaria Gianoti.

The exhibition

The exhibition is open until 25 October. Visitors can vote for their favourite pictures.
