In Nus, “malvoisie” is the name given to a grape that is in fact pinot gris. With it, winegrowers make a dry wine and, above all, this sweet wine, Nus Malvoisie Flétri.

Vineyards between 600 and 900 metres

The grape’s thick skin protects it from cold and damp. Cool nights and sunny days give it time to ripen slowly.

The drying

After the harvest, the bunches are spread out on racks and dry for several weeks. They lose their water, the sugar becomes concentrated, and then they are pressed. Very little wine is obtained, sweet and thick.

In the glass

Deep gold with amber highlights. Candied fruit, honey, dried apricot and almond.

At the table

Fruit desserts, Bleu d’Aoste cheese, or simply a few Aosta tegole biscuits at the end of a meal.
