Nus Rouge DOC
The red wine of vien de Nus

Nus rouge takes its name from the municipality of Nus, in the centre of the valley. It is made mainly from vien de Nus, a red grape grown almost nowhere else.
Fairly high hillsides
The vines are planted between 600 and 850 metres, on schist and sandy soils. The appellation requires at least 70% vien de Nus and petit rouge, including at least 40% vien de Nus; the rest may come from other red grapes of the valley.
In the glass
Deep ruby, red fruit, spice and a herbaceous note. The tannins are present but supple. It usually spends a few months in cask.
At the table
Aosta Valley charcuterie, grilled meat, hard mountain cheeses.
