Pinot Gris DOC
The white cousin of pinot noir

Pinot gris is a mutation of pinot noir: its berries are greyish pink. It is best known in Alsace. In the Aosta Valley it is also found under another name: it is the “malvoisie” of Nus Malvoisie.
A grape that likes cool conditions
It copes well with cold, steady climates, like that of the valley. About 63,000 bottles are produced each year, almost always aged in stainless steel tanks.
In the glass
Straw yellow, sometimes with a coppery glint when the juice has stayed a little in contact with the skins. Aromas of pear and yellow fruit, lively acidity. It is drunk within the year, served at 10–12 °C.
At the table
Trout, risotto, soft cheeses.
