Rebatta
Flip a small ball into the air, then hit it as far as possible

Rebatta is one of the four traditional Aosta Valley sports, along with tsan, fiolet and palet. It is a game of strength and precision, born in the village meadows.
How it works
The player sets a small ball on the end of a wooden lever lying on the ground. A sharp blow on the other end flips the ball into the air. Then, with a long club with a flattened head, the player strikes it in mid-air to send it as far as possible.
Scoring
Every hit is measured: the farther the ball goes, the more points the player scores. A game is played over several throws, individually or in teams.
A living sport
Rebatta is still played in championships, in spring and summer, in several villages of the valley. Teams carry the name of their village.
