Photographing alpine wildlife with Mont Avic park – A workshop in Champorcher and an evening in Bard with Marco Colombo, on 24 October 2026

Mont Avic Natural Park devotes a day to alpine wildlife photography. It is led by Marco Colombo, naturalist, wildlife photographer and filmmaker, three times a winner at Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Morning: workshop in Champorcher

Meet at 9 am at the Champorcher visitor centre, in the Castello hamlet. An easy hike follows on the park’s trails, with Marco Colombo and a hiking guide. The climb is about 300 m, with return expected around 4 pm. The workshop covers composition, details, textures and macro photography: invertebrates, plants, fungi. DSLRs, mirrorless and compact cameras and smartphones are all welcome.

Evening: “Il cuore selvaggio delle Alpi” in Bard

At 8.30 pm, at the Maison des Artistes (MAB) in Bard, Marco Colombo shows his best-known images. He talks about his observations, his hide techniques and stories of animal behaviour.
