Gamay DOC
A light red, to drink young

Gamay was born in Burgundy, where a village bears its name, and it made the reputation of Beaujolais. It arrived in the Aosta Valley at the beginning of the 19th century. Around 100,000 bottles a year are produced today.
Early and generous
It ripens early, which suits the short mountain summers. But it yields heavily: to make a good wine, growers must prune short and limit the number of bunches.
In the glass
A ruby colour with purple glints, aromas of cherry and raspberry, few tannins. It is a simple wine, drunk within its first two years. It does not lend itself well to blending and is almost always drunk on its own.
At the table
Charcuterie, polenta, everyday dishes.
