Mai Domi
A young estate in Saint-Christophe, started from scratch
In Thuvex, in the commune of Saint-Christophe, Mai Domi is Alex Salvi’s small farm. There is no family inheritance here: the estate started from scratch.
A passion found by chance
Alex Salvi came to wine almost by chance, and the experience awakened a passion he already had. Before setting up on his own, he worked at Maison Anselmet alongside Giorgio Anselmet, who gave him his love of the vines.
Old vineyards brought back
The estate works old vineyards with suitable equipment and replants in well-suited areas. It uses no chemical weedkillers, to keep the grapes healthy. It received support from the Aosta Valley Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 for its equipment and vineyards.
Wines and liqueurs
The range is short, with Latin or evocative names:
- Red wines: Elite, Iocus, Orto delle Lumache, Domus Nostra;
- White wines: Imago, Felicitas, Amoratic;
- Liqueurs: Ot.Timo, Foe. V., RoseMary and a nocino (walnut liqueur).
