Edoardo Braga
A winegrower who started from scratch, eighteen plots in five villages

Edoardo Braga does not come from a winegrowing family. His father was in the army. He chose the vine: he studied at the Institut Agricole Régional in Aosta, then oenology in Alba, with work placements in Burgundy.
A patchwork estate
In 2014, he started with less than a hectare of rented vines and 3,500 bottles. Little by little, he added plots. Today he works eighteen of them, each of about 1,000 m². They are scattered across five communes: Quart, Jovençan, Aymavilles, Saint-Christophe and Nus.
The vines are about forty years old on average. They grow between 500 and 700 metres, on steep slopes. Most of the work is done by hand.
Valley grapes first
Edoardo Braga gives priority to Aosta Valley grape varieties. He ages his wines in barrels that have already been used, so that the wood stays in the background. He signs every bottle himself.
The wines
- Torrette and Torrette Supérieur: mostly Petit Rouge, with Vien de Nus and Cornalin.
- Fumin and Cornalin: two reds from the valley.
- Gamay and Pinot Noir.
- Petite Arvine and Chambave Muscat: the whites.
- “Elettra”: a rosé from Petit Rouge.
