Ermes Pavese
Prié blanc on its own roots, at around 1,200 metres

In Morgex, the Pavese family grows prié blanc, the grape of Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle. They have been bottling their wine under their own name since 1999. The estate has grown from two to about six hectares of small plots, in Morgex and La Salle.
Vines that were never grafted
The vines climb to around 1,200 metres. At this altitude, phylloxera has never been able to settle. So the vines grow on their own roots, as they did before the great crisis of the 19th century. They are trained on low pergolas, in the traditional way, to make the most of the warmth of the ground.
The family is a member of the Italian Independent Winegrowers (Vignaioli Indipendenti).
The wines
All are made from prié blanc, under the Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle designation.
- Still whites: lively, fresh and typical of the upper valley.
- Sparkling wines.
- A skin-contact white.
- A sweet wine.
